The Downes Effect by Ashley Hope
¿Nos quitan la voz? Nos hacemos el camino.
Cada vez estamos más cerca.
El que se cansa, pierde.
Y que nadie lo dude.

My love and my heart today goes to Venezuela, my country, where students and workers from all the country are currently being attacked by security forces/pro-government supporters with tear gas and guns in different cities during the street demonstrations of the past few days.
Before the protests were dissolved, the government ordered to cease the transmissions of the only news channel covering the situation in the country (NTN24), and it’s now been proved that the government is also blocking images from the demonstrations on Twitter. Venezuela is running out of options.
So far 3 people have been shot dead, some of them students younger than myself, and many others are still being attacked by police forces and the government illegal militias, while others are being taking into jail just for protesting, which is a constitutional right in Venezuela.
Human Rights are being violated everyday in Venezuela, and social media has become the only way to inform everyone about the illegalities happening in the country.
Please help us spread the word by using hashtags #PrayForVenezuela #SOSVenezuela #Venezuela.
